Athens Pride is a fully voluntary organization. It relies entirely on the dozens of volunteers (about 500 in 2021) for its smooth running. In addition to the practical help provided to Athens Pride, volunteering at Athens Pride has given dozens of people courage and a sense of belonging.
As our festival grows each year, so does the volunteerism and needs of the festival expand. In recent years, Athens Pride volunteering has become an activist and active part of the LGBTQI+ community, with a presence in the community all year round, not just on the day of Athens Pride.
