Outdoor installation and performance dimensions variable, 2009.

The “Monument to Internet hookups” is part of the  “The Angelo Foundation” series of installations, performances and website, that Plessas initiated in December 2007 at the National Museum of Contemporary Art in Athens.

“The Monument to internet hookups” is an outdoor sculpture that will act as a meeting point/ shelter/ performance stage/ outdoor salon and potentially wifi spot for people who share similar interests, ideas and sexuality.

The monument is based on a triple triangle, a black pyramid-shaped frame whose installation on the site will be a performance that coincides with the Athens Pride parade. The sculpture will be placed on one of the Pride “floats” and will  parade on a float along with the main floats of the 2009 Athens Gay Pride on the 13th of June around 18:30 pm.

Apart from the pyramide sculpture the float will contain the people that will interpret the 4 (or 6) board members of the Foundation sitting inside or around the tower. The board members will be dressed in black clothes and will wear the Angelo Foundation heads. During the Athens Pride parade, they will be seated on the float and interact with the audience and at the end of the parade they will be transported on the site with the parade truck, and installed in the Trocadero park in an ideally quiet and rather isolated location but close to the main venue, where further internet hookups may be facilitated.
