On Sunday, 8 October, at the InterPride Annual General Meeting & World Conference in Indianapolis (Indiana USA), 60% of the attending member-organizations voted in favor of Athens Pride to host the annual conference in 2019.
Athens Pride had the honor of bidding against Austin Pride (Texas USA), an experienced and highly-regarded organization.
InterPride, the International Association of LGBTI Pride Organizers (www.interpride.org), has 221 members from all over the world. Athens Pride has been a member since 2007.
This year’s conference, hosted by Indy Pride, was the largest ever held, with representation from the USA, Canada, Europe, Latin America, Australia, and Africa.In addition, we congratulate Copenhagen Pride, for its winning bid to host World Pride 2021.
Athens Pride wishes to thank all the government agencies, embassies, community organizations, and institutions that supported our bid. We look forward to October 2019, when we will welcome Pride organizers from all over the world to the biggest and most exciting World Conference ever!
