3. Οι lgbtqi+ expats in Greece , σε συνεργασία με τον HGW std.

Η ομοφυλοφιλία εξακολουθεί να είναι παράνομη σε πολλές χώρες και σε αρκετά μέρη τα lgbtqi+ δικαιώματα διαβρώνονται συνεχώς. Η Ελλάδα είναι μια από τις χώρες που επιλέγουν αρκετοί lgbtqi+ μετανάστες. (Σε μία από τις ετήσιες εκθέσεις της, η Διεθνής Ένωση Λεσβιών, Ομοφυλόφιλων, Αμφιφυλόφιλων, Τρανς και Ίντερσεξ (ILGA) ανέφερε ότι η Ελλάδα ήταν η κορυφαία ευρωπαϊκή χώρα με σημαντικές βελτιώσεις μεταξύ 2014-2018).
Η λήψη της απόφασης να φύγεις από τη χώρα σου είναι συνήθως μεγαλύτερη πρόκληση για τους lgbtqi+ μετανάστες, παρά για τους ετεροφυλόφιλους. Εκτός από τις προφανείς αποφάσεις, όπως ο αντίκτυπος στη σταδιοδρομία, ή η ποιότητα της υγειονομικής περίθαλψης, οι γκέι, οι λεσβίες, οι αμφιφυλόφιλοι, οι ίντερσεξ και τα τρανς άτομα συχνά πρέπει να λάβουν υπόψη τους πιο σοβαρές συνέπειες.

Σε αυτό το πάνελ δίνουμε βήμα στους lgbtqi+ μετανάστες. Ακούμε τις ιστορίες τους, την εμπειρία τους ως lgbtqi+ άτομα στην Ελλάδα, τις ανάγκες τους, ρίχνουμε φως στις προκλήσεις που έχουν να αντιμετωπίσουν και εμπνεόμαστε από το θάρρος τους.

As the world becomes more interconnected, the number of LGBTQI+ expats is on the rise. Greece, but especially Athens, is an important center for LGBTQIA+ expats from all over the world. However, this community often faces unique challenges, including discrimination, isolation, and lack of support.

HER x shesaid.so Athens and HGW std. unite forces to address these issues, featuring five speakers from diverse backgrounds and experience.

The discussion will explore the sociological, psychological, and economic aspects of the LGBTQI expat experience, with a focus on sharing personal stories, research findings, and practical advice for navigating life as an expat in a foreign country. Topics will include everything from cultural differences and language barriers to legal rights and mental health.

Our goal is to foster a deeper understanding of the LGBTQI expat experience and to provide attendees with the tools and resources they need to navigate this complex and often challenging terrain and create a sense of community.
